Get to know Mulcahy Performance on & offline

This company has always been (and always will be) less about me, more about you.  I combined my passion for coaching and sport psychology into this business to help you reach your goals, and have fun along the way. Between coaching and training for my own races, you’ll find me experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen, watching Formula One with my husband (Team Hamilton here), and planning our next big adventure.

Meet Shannon, discover MPC’s core beliefs, and learn how we really feel about positive thinking

MPC strongly believes..

PERSON FIRST, ATHLETE SECOND

I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. Instead, I consider your race history, training plan, current, and past stressors, sleep, goals, mindset, and day-to-day life. I meet you where you’re currently at and guide you with the tools you need to reach your goals in your own unique way. Together, we will work to make mental skills a habit, not just that thing you know you should do but always skip.

Whether you’re an adult-onset athlete or have been competing your whole life, sport should be something that brings you joy and enhances your life. Who you are as a person will always matter more to me than your race results. I believe people perform best when they enjoy what they do, and having fun is the secret to unlocking game-changing results. I’m not afraid of asking hard questions & challenging you to get out of your comfort zone.

My experience is enhanced by higher education - a Bachelor's in Interdisciplinary Studies, as well as a Master's in Sport and Exercise Psychology.

I've worked with clients ranging from world champion swimmers to amateur & professional triathletes, runners to cyclists, coaches, collegiate teams to athletic departments, to the military.

I've worked as a Master Resilience Trainer-Performance Expert with the United States Army. So I know the value of performing at your best when it counts most while having fun along the way.

But more important than all of that formal resume-type chatter…

I'M OBSESSED WITH UNDERSTANDING HOW OUR MINDS WORK

You'll always have someone in your corner, whether we're chatting about F1, a mid-week craving for a habanero fish taco, or how to shift your thoughts from negative to productive.

My favorites this or that

pancakes / waffles

open water / pool

techy trail / hero dirt

tempo run / intervals

salsa / guacamole

coffee / matcha

MEET YOUR NEW MENTAL PERFORMANCE COACH

Hi, I’m Shannon

  • I've done two Ironman races--Lake Placid & Mont Tremblant

  • I was bit by a zebra when I was a kid in Gettysburg, PA

  • I've never been on a rollercoaster

  • I want to go to culinary school one day

You know what lights me up?

Living a full and vibrant life, full of emotions, energy & adventure. I started racing triathlons as a way to stay in shape after I quit competitive swimming. I've continued racing because I adore the challenge. Setting a goal that leaves me asking myself, "can I really do this?" is what makes me feel alive. I'm constantly seeking to find and push my mental and physical limits of what's possible. Add a fun new location to travel to, and I'm most fulfilled.
