Meet Mulcahy Performance 2.0

It’s here, it’s here, it’s here! The refreshed Mulcahy Performance Consulting is everything I dreamed it would be, which makes sharing it with you that much sweeter. For those of you who love behind-the-scenes content, dig in to how we got to this moment.

THE BACKSTORY

I first started Mulcahy Performance in June 2019, while sitting in a Starbucks in Lake Placid. I bought my website domain and instantly felt a pit in my stomach. Not because I had regret or doubt, but because I knew that was the beginning.

Over the next three years, I’ve had the privilege of working with hundreds of athletes and coaches around the world. I’ve created two digital products (Set Better Goals & Optimal Off-Season), launched a sport psychology course for coaches, overhauled my 1:1 coaching services & started a weekly newsletter.

THE EVOLUTION

Despite all of this, it never quite felt like this company found its footing. I loved my work, but something wasn’t right. I felt like I was trying to fit myself and this business into what the “industry” wanted. I guess that’s social media for you.

In June, I reached out to Tatum from Brandt Creative Co to help in creating Mulcahy Performance 2.0. On our first call together, I remember telling her I wanted a brand that represented the adventurousness of being an athlete, the prestige of academia, and the sophistication of entrepreneurship. I wanted this brand to represent the intersection of the different aspects of our lives coming together.

In the end, the color palette is primarily inspired by light—the way the light hits a skyscraper in the morning and the way the light dances on the water in the evening. It’s how you see the world around you.

SOME OF THE BIGGEST CHANGES AND UPDATES TO NOTE:

  • Updates to services—The site launch also brought with it Team Services, Workshops, Alumni services & upgrades to 1:1 athlete coaching.

  • The MPC shop—The new home to Set Better Goals and Optimal Off-Season, plus MPC merch, affiliate links and new & old free resources.

  • Mental Performance for Endurance Athletes—Speaking of free resources, this mini-guide is a snapshot of the main mental skills.

  • Office Hours—A new way for coaches to work directly with me & get all their burning sport psychology questions answered.

LOOKING AHEAD

Something I’m really looking forward to is transforming The Coach’s Corner email list into a legit coach community, with coffee chats, a book club, lunch & learns.

There’s also a burnout mini-course in the works.

WHAT’S UNCHANGING

  • MPC’s mission

  • Our core values

  • Our guiding principles

If anything, this refresh allows MPC to reflect these more genuinely.

Helping athletes reach both the start and finish line of their next race feeling proud and confident in themselves drives this brand.

Welcome to the next chapter.
